Academic Building and Resources

The Okanagan Senate Academic Building and Resources Committee duly serves as the Okanagan Sub-Committee of the Council of Senates Budget Committee.

Composition

The membership of this Committee shall be the same as the membership of the Okanagan Sub-Committee of the Budget Committee of the Council of Senates:

• Nine (9) members of the Okanagan Senate appointed by and from the Okanagan Senate, who must include at least six (6) faculty members and two (2) students.
• No member of the Budget Committee shall hold an administrative appointment as a Dean, Principal, Associate Vice-President or Vice-President.

Quorum: 50% of voting members

Terms of Reference

• Responsible for the following:
  • Preparing an annual report outlining the work of the Committee and the physical and budget resources available for the development and maintenance of the campus.
  • Reviewing, raising issues, and monitoring the implementation of the Campus Master Plan;
  • Recommending priorities on new academic buildings with consideration for the needs of academic and non-academic buildings, balance between type of teaching spaces, and relationship to physical plant and planning;
  • Reviewing and raising issues regarding the impact of every development, whether building or landscape, on the total teaching and academic resource.
